GIVE! Look around at what you have and give according to your abundance. It doesn't matter if it is 5 cents, 5 dollars, $500 or $5000. God has so blessed us give what he guides you to give, and maybe a little more to make sure you heard HIM correctly.

Jonathan:

In response to your first comment, you can read a brief update on the progress of the first Haiti Orphanage above (under the completing the orphan village section). You can read all of the details about our two planned orphan villages by clicking "Caring for Orphans" at the top of the page.

Our first group of 300 orphans should have a new home by May! Keep an eye on this site and longhollow.com for some exciting opportunities to be a part of what God is doing in Haiti. The Adoption Ministry is also up and running now; expect to hear much more about that in the near future.

Regarding your second comment, I understand your concern. At Long Hollow, we ground our mission strategy around Acts 1:8, where Jesus states "you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." We strive to balance our efforts locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.

You can see this reflected in the structure of The Crazy Love Campaign, where 55% of the funds are focused on what God is calling us to locally, and the other 45% are focused on regional and international ministry goals (with different percentage breakdowns per offering). I assure you that a lot of time and a mountain of prayer has gone into the planning of this campaign; we feel that the stated local (building) and international (orphans and missions) ministry split is what God is calling Long Hollow to do at this time.

Locally speaking, buildings are very expensive. Our youth are facing major growth and logistical issues due to the confines of the current school space. After a lot of research, we found that the pre-engineered metal building we're proposing would be the most cost-effective way for us to follow God's leading to reach hundreds, or even thousands more students in our future. If you have any questions about the distribution of funds or the planning of our student building, please don't hesitate to contact our Business Pastor, Todd Cox (todd.cox@longhollow.com).

Thanks for the comments!

One statement above really bothers me.

"Long Hollow continues its commitment to put money into ministry and not elaborate buildings."

However, the building is going to cost over 3.5 million dollars. Think about what could be done to help orphans with that money. This just blows my mind.

Any updates on the 1st offering. Lots was said about meeting the goal but how has that money impacted the areas it was designated for? Any updates on Haiti or the adoption ministry? Thanks.
