Funding key partnerships related to ministering in Christ’s name to those in need ($70,000 from Offering #3)

Through The Crazy Love Campaign we want to further undergird the work and ministry of some of our key partnerships.

Cumberland Crisis Pregnancy Center – $8,750

A baby at the Cumberland Crisis Pregnancy CenterThe Cumberland Crisis Pregnancy Center is an amazing ministry of life. It is a place where the power of Christ’s love shines in frightened and seemingly hopeless settings. This is a ministry of presence- being present to those who are vulnerable or broken so that they can know how much Jesus loves them. The CCPC counselors compassionately help young women and others involved in unplanned pregnancies make informed and well thought-out decisions for their future. Also, many young women facing an unplanned pregnancy are not prepared financially to care for a baby. The CCPC provides maternity clothes, baby clothes, diapers, car seats, and other essentials to help meet those immediate needs. Last year, the CCPC staff had 3880 client visits. This was an increase of 600 visits over the previous year. They ministered to 890 clients and saw 162 babies born. They provide prenatal classes, parenting classes, scholarships for continuing education, mentoring, abortion recovery counseling, and Bible studies. All of their services are at no cost to the client.

Salvus Center – $1,750

Salvus Center LogoMore than 20,000 of Sumner County’s residents—about 13% of the county’s population—are without health insurance. Inspired by the Biblical mandate to care for the sick and the needy, a diverse group of Sumner County’s leading citizens came together in the fall of 2004 to found Salvus Center, a faith-based 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing healthcare for the working uninsured in Sumner County. In the spring of 2005, Salvus Center adopted the following mission statement:

“The mission of Salvus Center, Inc. is to be a faith-based health center that seeks to reclaim the historical and Biblical commitment to care for those who are sick and in need so they might experience wholeness, wellness and healing.”

Salvus Center operates as a health care clinic for the residents of Sumner County who work but do not have health insurance. Patients are seen, treated and pay for their service according to a sliding scale. There are two locations in Sumner County, one in Gallatin and one in Hendersonville.
