lotIn Psalm 68:5, God is called “the father of the fatherless.” Now that our first orphan village is near completion and our first kids are moving in, we are offering the opportunity for Long Hollow’s families to join God in this high calling of being a father to the fatherless.

The Crazy Love Campaign is providing the funds to build the buildings, but now it’s time to provide the funds for the on-going needs of care, food, and school for the kids. Here’s how LOVE A L.O.T. (”Least of These”) works:

Two Options

Residential Care

HousesCaring for the kids who will live in our villages costs $35 per month, which includes one hot meal a day (another hot meal a day is included in the school budget), a daily snack, kitchen expenses, farm development, water, electricity, fuel for generators and vehicles, maintenance, supplies, and salaries for the “mamas,” cooks, and security staff. The Jeremie Village will have about 300 kids, and the Port-au-Prince Village about 85, in full-time residential care.

School

SchoolThis opportunity is to help provide an education for the kids in residential care plus kids from the community. The school in Jeremie will initially have about 500 kids, and the school in Port-au-Prince about 250. A key component of the school is a year-round feeding program where every child receives one hot meal a day. This also serves as an orphan prevention program since many parents in these conditions struggle to feed their kids and will often abandon them so an orphanage will take them in. The cost of school and a daily hot meal is $10 a month. This includes teachers’ salaries, curriculum, utilities and the daily meal.

Commit to Ongoing Support for the "Least of These"

Please use the form below to indicate your interest in being a part of on-going support for orphans in our care around the world.

We will build our list of donors in the order they are received. Once we have received enough donors to cover our kids in care, we will build a waiting list, so that as kids arrive, the supporting funds will already be arranged.

Your Commitment

Residential Care:   kids at $35/month for 3 years

School:   kids at $10/month for 3 years

Questions and Answers

How long is my commitment?

For three years while the economic stability of the village is established.  If monthly support is needed past three years, you will have the option to continue your support.  However, at any point along the way you are unable to continue giving, just contact our church’s financial office.

What are my options for how to give?

With your commitment you will receive a packet with more details on giving options and next steps.

Will our villages always need monthly support?

The goal for each village is for it to be able to support itself after three years through growing food, animals and businesses in and around each village.  Our desire at this point is to stay involved in ministry long-term but wean them off our financial support over time.

How many villages will we build?

We will continue to build new villages as God leads, a big factor being our church’s ability to provide the monthly support for new villages as we bring them online.  God willing, our current villages will become self-sustaining, also allowing us to continue to build and support new ones.

Will I Be Supporting a Specific Child?

Your support will go to provide the needs for a spot in the village or school rather than for a specific child. Administrative costs prohibit this option. Also, a certain percentage of the kids in the village will remain in transition.
